Why You Should use the Facebook Pages Manager App

Today we’re going to run through a quick tip on managing your business’s Facebook page on the go.

FIRST, let’s talk about the apps that you have installed on your phone or tablet.

  • Facebook App

This one is pretty obvious, and you likely already have it installed! But if not, you should install the regular, blue logo Facebook app.

  • Facebook Pages Manager

You can find this in the app store. It’s a free app that you can download and use to manage your business’s page.

SECOND, let’s talk about the differences between these 2 apps.

The regular, blue logo Facebook app is how a person sees Facebook. It’s where you go to scroll through your Newsfeed, to look at your friends’ and family’s photos, and also where you go to update your personal profile.

You can also see your business page from this app. You can even post and interact as your business through this app, HOWEVER your options are relatively limited.

The orange icon Facebook Pages Manager app is the best way to manage your business page from your phone. From this app, you can manage almost any aspect of your business Facebook page.

You can create posts, schedule them for later, create boosted posts and ads, target audiences, edit people’s roles on your pages…. there are a LOT of options!

You can see a wealth of analytics on your audience and your posts, and really manage your page well.

Why You Should use the Facebook Pages Manager App

Here’s a Frequently Asked Question: “But I already KNOW how to use the regular Facebook app. Do I HAVE to use the Facebook Pages Manager app?”

The answer to this is…. No. You COULD use the Facebook app alone. And then do the majority of your deeper Facebook work on your computer. HOWEVER, it is hugely beneficial in this day and age to be as mobile as possible. When something goes wrong on your page and it needs a quick fix, and you’re not near your computer – you’ll be glad you have this app installed!

The good news is that unlike some “behind the scenes” aspects of Facebook, the Facebook Pages Manager app is extremely user friendly. It looks slick and clean, and it’s pretty simple to navigate and edit the things you would like to.

My general workflow is this: I like to schedule Facebook posts on my laptop computer, and also create my ads on my laptop. Then I manage the page and check in with the Facebook Pages Manager app. This is a simple way to quickly reply to comments or post spontaneously during the day.

Keep in mind that if you like to work from your phone or tablet, you could accomplish all of these things – and never even touch a computer! It all comes down to personal preference.
