Are you ready to get brave and go Facebook Live for the first time?
It’s not that bad, I promise! Once you know a few tricks you’ll be a pro in no time.
First, the logistics.
Easy Steps to Go Live on Facebook
Step 1: Login to Facebook on your phone.
If you are doing a Facebook Live video for your business, make sure you are using your business’s Facebook page.
Step 2: Go to the top of your News Feed.
You can get to the Live video option by either tapping “Live” at the top, or by tapping “What’s on your Mind” – you will see “Live Video” in the options beneath.
Step 3: Allow Camera Access
Facebook will need to use your phone’s camera in order to record the video, so you will need to “Allow Access” at the bottom of the screen.
There are 3 steps to this:
- Go to “Privacy”
- Go to “Camera”
- Move the slider next to “Facebook”
Step 4: Allow access to your microphone.
Once you’ve given camera access, go back to Facebook on your phone. When you click on Live Video it will pop up a notification that Facebook would like to access the microphone. Once again, it needs this access in order to record your video.
Tap on “OK”
Step 5: Give your live video a title.
Tap where it says “describe your live video” and type in a title. Make your title something that describes your video and also catches people’s attention. When people receive notification that you are live, all they will see is the title of your video, so make it grab their attention!
Step 6: Adjust the privacy setting of your video, if you choose.
Under your name, you will see a drop-down menu where you can choose who sees the video. Adjust the audience as you’d like.
Step 7: Go Live!
Once you tap “Go Live” it will give you a 3…2…1… countdown and then you will be live!
